Gift a Shahada pack
New Muslims need clear and beautiful resources. But a great deal of Islamic literature is costly and can be difficult to source.
Your help could gift one Shahada pack
Your help could gift two Shahada packs
Your help could gift three Shahada packs
We work with Cambridge Central Mosque to provide Shahada welcome packs for newcomers when they take their shahada.
With so many people now embracing Islam, and many more interested in learning, we’re struggling to meet demand. Last year, we had 250 people take Shahadah at Cambridge Central Mosque alone! We’re driving a campaing to raise funds for 500 Shahada welcome packs. Can you support our efforts?
From a copy of the Holy Qur’an to hadith and Du’a resources – your donations could provide all the essentials a new Muslim needs to learn, practice and settle into their Islam.
Each Shahada welcome pack will contain*:
The Qur’an – A New Translation by M.A.S.Abdel Haleem (OUP)
Muhammad – A Very Short Introduction by Jonathan A.C. Brown (OUP)
Book of Hadith – Sayings of the Prophet Muhammad from the Mishkat Al Masabih
In The Garden of Remembrance. A collection of prayers by Murad Mujahid al Ash’ari al Adnani. Translated by Nishat Lal. (Daybreak Press)
Being Muslim, a practical guide – Asad Tarsin
Prayer mat
Tasbih (prayer beads)
*This list is subject to the availability of resources.
‘Cambridge Crescent provides a supported, well informed and open-hearted environment for new Muslims and those they are connected to, to learn, ask questions and hear the experience of others. They actively encourage multifaceted growth and learning, to become well rounded in one's faith, life, and worship.’ – Hannah
The Messenger of God ﷺ said to Asma (God be pleased with her) daughter of Abu Bakr, “Give without calculating lest God calculate concerning you; and don’t hold back, lest God hold back from you. Give as much as you are able.” - Bukhari & Muslim
The services we provide for new Muslims are Zakat compliant. As Allah guides us to whom to give, as illustrated in the verse below, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was also known to give and reconcile hearts.
'The charitable offerings are only for the poor, and the destitute and those who collect (the zakat) and those whose hearts are (to be) reconciled and for (ransoming) slaves and debtors and in God’s path, and the wayfarer, as an obligation from God and God is Knowing , Wise.’ — Holy Qur’an 9: 60
